Hi, I’m Lydia

I’m an artist living in Beaufort, South Carolina with my husband and our two cats. I like long walks, good food, a glass of wine, and time with the people who make life feel full — but most days, you can find me in my little home studio.

These days, I primarily work with acrylic on canvas. Depending on how I want a piece to feel, I’ll either thin the paint with water for softer washes or build it up with acrylic mediums for more texture. I tend to interpret calm or openness through those lighter, more fluid layers, and a grounded feeling through thicker, more repetitive marks — and sometimes I combine the two.

My work has always centered around appreciating the beauty of time and my love for the outdoors. I love taking days or even weeks to build a piece, adding layer after layer and watching the inspiration slowly show itself. A lot of what I create comes from whatever season of life I’m in, and I interpret those feelings through the colors and textures I find in nature. Because I’ve lived in so many different places, my style shifts right along with my surroundings. I enjoy having a variety of artwork in my own home, so it feels natural to share that same variety in my releases. My hope is that something in that mix feels at home with you, too.

Thank you for taking a moment to get to know my story.
